A New Masterclass
You get quite humble when asked to restore and revitalize a brand that was established 1832. Especially since W&N is known for their commitment to quality and innovation, and their art materials are used by some of the world’s finest artists. Our evolutionary approach was built around their key visual assets — the Winged Lion and the Royal Warrant. W&N were granted its first Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1841, and have received endorsement ever since. The iconic Winged Lion mark was carefully updated and refined together with Colophon foundry. By adding two shades of cool gray we were able to create a subtle difference between the professional range(dark gray) and classic range(light gray). The infinite color space of their products could also rest on the shoulders of the gray background. After the completion of the new global master brand identity we have also implemented the design on a selection of hero product ranges.
